Ashley Matse is an active musician and educator; her entire courses taught, ensembles, publications, and affiliations can be found on her Curriculum Vitae. She currently teaches private brass and woodwind lessons, is a guest clinician and workshop presenter, and works with various ensembles throughout PA.

Ashley graduated with a master's degree in Instrumental Conducting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in May 2023 and is using that to help empower all musicians, but especially females in the conducting arts. Her article about the gender gap in conducting was published in the PMEA Journal and Pan Pipes Journal in 2023. 

In 2020, Ashley graduated Summa Cum Laude and Outstanding Departmental Graduate of the music department from Edinboro University where she served in multiple positions of the Zeta Upsilon chapter of the music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota of which she is still a member and now a Province Officer. She was employed as the Music Department Administrative Assistant for the Dr. William P. Alexander Music Building where she actively recruited students to the Music and Theater Department and assisted in departmental functions. She earned multiple awards and scholarships during her time at Edinboro which can be found on her Curriculum Vitae.  

Ashley is a 2016 graduate of Bishop McCort High School where she participated in the concert band, orchestra, accompanied the choral ensembles, and was the drum major for the marching band. After graduating, she spent time with the Bishop McCort marching band as a volunteer Assistant Instructor teaching marching techniques, drills, commands, and instrumental parts and solos with the band and pit.
